C'est La Vie is an interesting "coming of age" film where the audience follows the summer of two young girls containing friends, love, adventure, and betrayal. The story intrigues through humor and tragedy, which ends up being a pleasing cinematic experience.

Summary: Marie has always been somewhat independent and is considered by some to be a bit of a tomboy. Though she is not quite a teenager, her photographer father has no qualms about leaving her alone for a while when he has to go off on an assignment. One day, while she is walking along, she gets run down by an automobile. The contrite woman driving that car sees to it that she is all right, and before long the two of them have become fast friends. Nina's Home takes place between September 1944 and January 1946 in an orphanage housed in a chateau outside Paris. At the outset, the country residence is run by Nina who has a core population of French Jewish children whose parents are probably dead. Food is scarce. News of the Concentration Camps hasn't hit yet, but some months later, a contingent of youths arrive form the liberated camps. The children are a disparate, wild, damaged group and conflicts ensue. Nina's challenge is to help them make their first delicate moves toward the future and in the process restore all of them, including herself, to life.

Summary: Superb sleazy kidnap drama about the relationship that forms between a rich teenager (Rena Niehaus) whose abducted and held for ransom and one of her naive captors (Michelle Placido) who manages to fall for her both sexually and emotionally resulting in her gaining the upper hand,features a lot of nudity and sexual situations, some quite explicit,but is very well made and Visconti's best.

Summary: Two kids about ten years old meet within a very peculiar framework: both come from broken families and are in care of foster homes... whatever that is! The film is not especially good in production. It's more of an amateur film, but, nonetheless it's a very convincing story that sandwiches tons of strong realities of our times in 93 minutes.

Comments: Innocence Has A Power Evil Cannot Imagine.

Summary: "Pan's Labyrinth" is the story of a young girl that travels with her mother and adoptive father to a rural area up North in Spain, 1944. After Franco´s victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Post-war Fascist repression is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own.

With luck like this, what could go wrong?

Summary: Antonio, a policeman (carabiniere), has an order to take two children (Rosetta and her brother Luciano) from Milan to Sicily to an orphanage. First the relation between Antonio and the children is tough, but it relaxes so they become temporary friends.

Summary: Set in Ghobadi's native Kurdistan, close to the Turkey-Iran border. Satellite is a 13-year-old boy who orders other children around as he installs an antenna for villagers keen to hear of Saddam's fall. Comments: A fairytale about chess.

A Groundhog Day for the tween set, The Last Day of Summer is an entertaining movie for ages 7 and older that does a nice job of exploring middle school angst and encouraging self-confidence.

Summary: James Mitchell plays Paul Wyler, a successful sculptor best known for sculpting nude young girls. Sarah, married but still jealous of the fact that her former lover is more attracted to her daughter, tells Paul that Laura is not interested, even though she is actually quite enthusiastic about doing it. As an alternative to live posing, Sarah takes photos of Laura posing nude and gives them to Paul so that he can sculpt Laura. After a fire at an art exhibit, though, Paul goes blind and cannot complete the sculpture. In the end, Laura, when going to say goodbye to Paul, allows him to sculpt the remainder of the scultpure by feeling Laura's body and sculpting by feeling. This leads to a sexual encounter between the two, and the next morning Laura's mother comes to take her away.

Despardieu est un des plus grands acteurs pour interpréter ce rôle avec tant d'émotion et Malkovitch est aussi très convaiquant de même que Christian Clavier et Charlotte Gainsbourg. J'ai été tout à fait transporté dans l'histoire. La France de l'époque était aussi très bien représentée. Ils sont arrivé à retenir le plus important et l'enchaîner superbement. C'est un véritable chef d'oeuvre tout comme le livre. Je vous encourage fortement à le constater de vous même.

Summary: A little known but fantastic child actress of the time Vanessa King plays Kelley Farrow an 11 year old girl who dares to tell the world that she has been sexually abused by her highly respectable father and in the beginning she is alone because no one, not even her own lawyer believes her.

In fact at first no one believes her because Kelley is known for telling lies and being a "bad girl", she locked her younger brother in the bathroom and was generally disruptive but the root of her behaviour was that she was an abused child crying out for help that never came, least of all from her older sister Chrissie who had left the family home as soon as she could.

Finally Kelly's father Gill Farrow played by the diminutive Canadian actor Art Hindle who was brave to take on such a controversial role has his day in court and it is obvious that he expects to walk out a free man, into the arms of a wife and another daughter who believes he is innocent his daughter Kelley branded a liar as she had been in the past.

But the truth has a way of coming out no matter how hard people try to hide it from sight and Kelley's older sister Chrissie takes the stand and the court hears that Kelley was not his first victim and the child liar is in fact telling the truth, she was a victim of incest as was her older sister.

Shaken up in her feelings, Lena returns to her family in Jena. Angry with herself and angry about the system, because she knows, if she took Lilly with her, she had to go back into prison. After her sister escaped in the West, Lena was already in prison for three years because she helped her. In Hamburg the youth office looks for foster parents for Lilly. Not knowing what to do, Lilly makes a plan to flee # into the East! But this is not as easy as it seems. Together with the friend of her mother she travels to East Berlin, and from there on by train to Jena. In the evening, at her cousin Till's birthday, she arrives at Lena flat. After little trouble, she is welcomed very well by Lena, but this is not the end: She is not allowed to stay here and so a danger for the family. So Lena's husband refreshes his contacts into the underground, to find a way to let Lilly stay. A sharp American girl (Diane Lane, in her debut) and a film-loving Parisian boy (Thelonious Bernard, in his only film) fall innocently in love. When the girl's zealous mother (Sally Kellerman) goes ballistic, the young couple fall under the spell of a curious gentleman (none other than Laurence Olivier), who plants the seed to make their love last forever: to kiss under a Venetian bridge at sunset. As the love story becomes an adventure with the young lovers crossing France and Italy, Allan Burns's Oscar-nominated script and Hill's deft touch turn this into a romance for the ages and a movie to smile about. George Delerue's Oscar-winning score and the picturesque European scenery don't hurt either.

Secret-keeping proves lucrative at first, but eventually the burden weighs on Emily and affects her ability to concentrate, hurting her chances of making the local youth symphony. Resolving her dilemma requires the help of two new friends, her violin teacher, parents, and a fair amount of soul-searching. Eventually, Emily's journey leads to the dissolution of her business and a cathartic revelation of a major secret of her own. Summary: Polly Regan (Brittney Bomann) has a good life on the farm with her grandfather (David Warner from TIME BANDITS and TITANIC). Unfortunately, one day Polly learns that her favorite mare is suffering with a difficult pregnancy and soon dies giving birth.

Heartbroken, Polly finally comes around when she sees the new foal, who incredibly is born a real live unicorn, and soon earns the love of Polly and her grandfather. Things turn difficult when the media and the public learn of this unique treasure and descend on the farm. Also arriving on the scene is Polly's Aunt Lucy (Emma Samms) who is concerned about Polly living on a farm, especially one with a unicorn and a sightseeing mob.

When Aunt Lucy sends Polly away to school, the unicorn is left without a protector and in steps The Great Allonso (George Hamilton), a washed up magician looking to use the unicorn to regain his lost magic. Bumbling greedy neighbors and circus owners are also interested in the unicorn and Polly must do everything in her power to protect her precious animal friend.

Summary: Louisa May Alcott's classic novel, derived from her own family life, tells the story of the March family, four daughters and their mother who are living in New England during the Civil War years. Their father is away in the Union Army as chaplain. We follow the adventures of spirited Jo, lovely Meg, gentle Beth, and romantic Amy. Four "little women" as they explore their talents, test their friendships, fall prey to selfish impulses and sometimes behave with great generosity as people do while achieving adulthood with all its attendant pleasures, frustrations, loves, losses, grief and joy.

Summary: We learn about the life of 13-year-old Swedish girl Rosa who fantasizes to be a pop star. She uses to explain her life to her fans by talking to a camera and also sings songs about her life into that camera. Rosa's parents are separated, she's living with her mother and her older sister.

Summary: Anne-Marie Mieville, a frequent collaborator and partner with filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard (who also penned the wonderful First Name: Carmen and, surprisingly, was the one who edited 'Hail Mary'), was by the mid-eighties quite capable of being director as much as co-writer and co-editor, and made this piece about a daughter named Mary and her two parents. They're in the middle of their marital troubles, and at the start of the film are in a bind- will they split for falling out of love, or stay for their child? Soon though, as the child gets a little older, the father leaves, and the mother becomes the primary parent of the intelligent, eccentric, and funny (in a 'French' sort of way) pre-teen. The film is highlighted with a terrific bit of music from Gustav Mahler (the scene itself is surreal when you first see it, but thinking about it it makes sense from the point of view of a kid), and a quiet scene with the daughter and her father late in the film.

Nothing special, but it is a nice treat of an art film that would put off a child if one were to watch it, and should really please admirers of the filmmaker's work. Kudos also to Rebecca Hampton, who's performance as Marie is almost note-perfect for the movement of the story.

Comments: Before you start a new life, you have to end the old one.

Summary: Unexpected confessions complicate a woman‘s secret plan to leave her dead-end existence in dreary New Belgrade in Love and Other Crimes, Serbian helmer Stefan Arsenijevic‘s self-assured feature debut. Thirty-something Anica feels restless and decides to secretly empty her boyfriends safe, a small-time mobster who owns a solarium and runs a protection racket, so she can start a new life somewhere else. Then Stanislav, a young man from Anica’s neighbourhood who also works for her boyfriend, admits his love for Anica, and her plan begins to falter.

Summary: Parchis returns to the classes and they are with the news that Vicky, daughter of Don Atilio will be its new companion. Gotten upset, they do jokes to him; while, David falls in love with her and soon, along with the other boys discover the human quality and good faith of the small one. Don Atilio is against to the relation of Vicky with Gemma, Yolanda, David, Tino, Frank and Carlitos, asi that commands to Vicky to a school of nuns directed by the sister of Don Atilio. Parchis tries to rescue to Vicky until after frustrated attempts, Vicky escapes suffering a terrible accident. Don Atilio reflects on its paper as father and history ends up uniting to all the personages of the film.

They start a journey together, trying to hide they're not just (step)father and daughter, throughout the country, being followed by someone whom Humbert first suspects to be from the police. The profound jealousy, and maybe some guilt from the forbidden love, seem slowly to drive the man emotionally labile.
